We all are desperately in need of the forgiveness of sins. We all long to be made right before God in the present, and for when we die. Many will try to cover their sins and overcome them with good works. This is the typical way. Muslims do this as well but there’s another attempt to find forgiveness of sins, and that is through touching and/or kissing the black stone in Mecca. Doing so, it is taught, one finds forgiveness for sins.
“It was narrated from Abdullah bin Ubaid bin Umair that a man said:
“O Abu abdur-Rahman, why do I only see you touching these two corners?” He said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah say: ‘Touching them erases sins’ (Sunan an-Nasa’i 2919).
It often can get downright violence as people fight to kiss the black stone in Mecca. It is truly heartbreaking to see.
Muslims deny that this is idolatry. For them, if they merely kiss the stone, it is Allah who forgives, not the stone. But it s the same with Baal or Molech. If there is some kind of action to the stone, the spirit behind the stone forgives.
Good news Muslims. You don’t have to risk your life or fight to kiss a stone to receive forgiveness. That forgiveness is found in Christ. He is the sacrifice for our sins. It is the very message of Jesus.
Acts 3:19 – Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
Repentance is not just random. He died for your sins on the cross. He made a gift for you that cost him his life. But the gift is only your when you receive it from him.
Repent of your sins. Declare him as the Son of God crucified upon the cross, buried, risen from the dead, and who appeared to Peter, the Twelve and many others. Be baptized. And put your faith in him today.
